Our Town Hall meeting, The
650 Forum, in Cody had the desired effect that we are
finally all talking about the issue of youth access to
alcohol. There have been articles in the paper, on the radio
and it’s a topic of discussion throughout the general
public…even in the schools. The first lady’s support has
assisted people who have been reluctant to voice their
concerns find their voice. The city has a strong desire to
ensure the safety of our youth and the forum played a huge
role in bringing alcohol and youth issues to the forefront.
We’re already planning for next year. We want to make this
forum an annual event that includes training on
environmental strategies for Law Enforcement, Physicians,
Counselors, Attorneys and others. All this energy and action
is a direct result of the Wyoming First Lady’s Initiative
and her enthusiasm. Working together we will make positive
change happen!
